Smart TV is also known as connected TV or hybrid TV. Web 2.0 features which are very interactive
and integrated internet which involves a television set or set top box. Smart TV application is basically a technological convergence
between computers and flat screen television sets and set top boxes. Smart TV
application includes Internet TV,
online interactive media over the top content which is also known as OTT, on
demand streaming media and home networking access.
Smart TV application includes Internet TV, IPTV or
with Web TV. Traditional systems like terrestrial, cable and satellite have
been developed into more developed form like Internet TV. Television
broadcasters utilize Internet Protocol television which is basically Internet
television technology standards.
Web television is a term used for
programs created by the large number of companies and individuals for broadcast
on Internet TV. Smart TV application is now introducing the operating system which is available through
the set top box. Apple Smart TV application involves
technology that enables smart TVs to be
incorporated in external devices as for example set top boxes and some Blu-ray
players, game consoles, digital media players, hotel television systems and
smart phones and other network connected interactive devices that utilize
television type display outputs. Network connected interactive devices that use
television type display output is easy to handle and is used be connected with
each other. Now because of application
developments viewers are able to search,
locate and play videos, movies, TV shows, photos and other content from the web
on a cable TV channel on a satellite TV channel or alternatively on a local
storage drive.
